Alfred Waldeck Obituary

Alfred Ryerson Waldeck, affectionately known as Uncle Al, passed away peacefully in his home in Ridgewood, New Jersey on March 28th at the age of 91. Al was born to Eleanor and Milton Waldeck on June 11th, 1932. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Carol Waldeck; his nephew, Tom Waldeck and his wife, Marcie Waldeck; his nephew, Ken Waldeck and his wife, Sandy Waldeck; his great niece Jessica; his great nephews Tyler, Daniel and Kurtis and his dear friend Connie.

In 1952, Al joined the United States Army and served in Korea. Upon returning to the United States in 1954, Al began working in construction. He started an excavation business digging pools and foundations throughout the community. Al found pleasure in recalling his war time stories and talking about his successful endeavors with his family.

Al enjoyed boating on the Hudson River and the Jersey Shore, fishing with an ice-cold beer in his hand. Throughout his life he owned many different boats and loved to create memories on the water with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time at the Garden State Park Racetrack watching his horse, Ritz, compete in various races. Most of all he loved seeing his great niece and great nephews find success in school and their respective careers.

His friends and family, along with all the neighborhood birds he always kept full, will miss him greatly.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 11:00am at Laurel Grove Cemetery, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ, 07512
