John C. Stanley


John C., 79, of Wyckoff, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born in Mt Vernon, NY, raised in Glen Rock, he graduated from Ridgewood High School and then Lehigh University. He then went on to serve in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He lived in Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, NJ and Virginia before moving back to Wyckoff 28 years ago.

John founded Tri-Dim Filter Corporation in 1968, where he stayed active until present. He was chairman of the board of Touch the World Ministries, and served in many of facets of Navigators in Colorado Springs, was a Trustee of the Wyckoff Baptist Church, and was on the board of Pocket Testament League. He was the New Jersey Small Business Man of the Year in 1983. He was also on the board of Braen Stone Industries. He was personally involved with and mentored numerous ministry partners.

John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sandra, his children: Sharon and her husband Darren Hernandez of Basking Ridge, Gretchen and her husband Scott Boardman of Wyckoff and John Jr. and his wife Karen of Wyckoff and 8 grandchildren: Alec, Rachel, Sam, Lauren, Morgan, Taylor, John III, and Grace. He is also survived by his brothers: Gordon and his wife Peg of Wyckoff and Paul and his wife Phyllis of Colorado Springs and his sister Linda and Bob O’Conner of Hackensack. He was predeceased by his brothers Richard and Warren Stanley.

The family will receive friends on Friday 2 – 4 and 7 - 9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral service will be on Saturday, 11:30 am at the Cornerstone Christian Church, 495 Wyckoff Ave, Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery.
