Obituary of Ronald DeJong
Ronald J. DeJong, 51, of Pine Island, NY, died on Thursday, March 1, 2018. Born in Ridgewood, he lived in Midland Park before moving to Pine Island 20 years ago. Ron served in the US Marines from 1990 to 1994, was a member of the Polish Legion of American Vets Post 16 and a member of the Pine Island Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a mason and worked for DeJong Masonry in North Haledon for many years until he moved to New York.
He is survived by his siblings: Elaine and her husband Craig Booth of Midland Park, NJ, Ginny and her husband Ken Veenstra of Blakeslee, PA, Robert DeJong and his wife Leslie and Roger DeJong and his wife Brenda, all of North Haledon, NJ, and sister-in-law Cynthia DeJong of Wyckoff. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Rick DeJong, and his parents Richard and Jeanette.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday 11:00 am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Graveside service will be private.
